Skis Tele Skis

My wife got me an old tele set last year to try it out. I’m excited to try a new domain of skiing!

The boots, bindings and skis are from roughly the early 2000s if I could guess. The skis are incredibly cambered with no rocker. They feel like they want to make extremely quick, biting turns - which is not what I’m looking for in tele skis. As I’m learning, I think I’d want something a bit more forgiving and something with a wider turn radius.

Any tele skiers, please weigh in on what I might want in a beginner tele ski. I’m planning to hit up the ski swaps in the next few weeks looking for an old pair of skis with dimensions/characteristics that better align to learning how to tele ski. I’m a very strong alpine skier but keep flopping on my face in tele boots.

Round flex with large sweet spot for the win. Think non-metal laminate friendly skis. Of course, all of the shape determinants around rocker profile, sidecut, camber, etc., that pertain to alpine skiing also pertain to telemark skiing, so pick your shape accordingly.
