My wife got me an old tele set last year to try it out. I’m excited to try a new domain of skiing!
The boots, bindings and skis are from roughly the early 2000s if I could guess. The skis are incredibly cambered with no rocker. They feel like they want to make extremely quick, biting turns - which is not what I’m looking for in tele skis. As I’m learning, I think I’d want something a bit more forgiving and something with a wider turn radius.
Any tele skiers, please weigh in on what I might want in a beginner tele ski. I’m planning to hit up the ski swaps in the next few weeks looking for an old pair of skis with dimensions/characteristics that better align to learning how to tele ski. I’m a very strong alpine skier but keep flopping on my face in tele boots.
