Thompson Pass open!

Sweet I was going to explore, but with expected high winds today figured to stay in my little playground rather than irritate a freshly windloaded cornice.

There’s some snowmobile tracks in it this year.. but you ought to hike about a half mile past your usual spot to the “Keyhole”. It’s just beyond the band of trees if you head up that gully with the big rocks. It’s a great natural bowl to make turns.

Looks like Thompson pass is open. FYI, splitboarders, the first little openings are fun and easy.
However, once you get back further, the getting out for splitboarders is very challenging (unless on hardboot setup, even then, not easy due to the amount of side-hilling and up and down).

Wish I could go!

Skiing was nice, but snow is rather dirty hiking in still got to enjoy the 2" that fell on Sunday, which was the only white snow.
