Historically, the entire slope of 16:1 sliding is a very rare occasion. From the opening of Jackass in '69 to date this is the only know instance in my memory of that happening while the area was open to the public. But it is also known that Wardner and Kellogg peak avalanched big enough in the late 1800 early 1900s to go all the way into the town of Wardner, 3000' below with fatal results.
