Hi,

Just joined the site to get some info about touring in northern Idaho. My wife and I are planning on skiing for a few days in the area after Christmas sometime as part of a skiing road trip. I have been skimming the trip reports to glean some info but if anyone is willing to share some suggestions for where we can tour via private message, we’d really appreciate it. We are very experienced backcountry skiers from Revelstoke, BC and would be happy to return the favour for anyone that comes skiing around here or Rogers Pass.

Ideally, we’d like to have a few spots lined up with some variety so we have options for all conditions/stabilities.

Hey everyone! Grew up in Sandpoint and been living in Salt Lake the last...4-5 years? But I got into splitboarding last season. This years wasatch snowpack has been abysmal... so I’ve only been riding at the resort so far. I’ll be up in Sandpoint Dec 18-29th, and was wondering if it would be worth bringing my touring gear? If any experienced backcountry users feel like dragging a newbie and my new born baby deer legs through the mountains and giving me a new perspective on my home turf that would be awesome. I’ll also have a Schweitzer pass so touring from the resort is an option.
Mainly posting so I can view trip reports but if anyone needs a partner around that time I’ll be around!

One of my favorite areas! I love doing Tumala PK across the highway!!

Are you from Bend? Still living there? I’ll be down there this season.

Welcome.. what area do you mostly ride in Utah? Have a few friends there.

The Schizz has really good touring there. You can search and find some info. One of our members posted a satellite pic with lines for tours in there a bit ago. It’s good reference.

Oh... our snowpack is horrible as well right now. Hope it improves fast.. for you and of course us! Ha

I'll be in CdA for a spell this winter & hope to go touring in the area. I'm sure your site will have the info I'm looking for to, help me find a group, choose a tour and to keep abreast of conditions.
